Carlo Capasa was born in Lecce in 1958 where he lived until he finished Humanities High School. In 1976 he moved to Milan and started to work for the historic fashion company FTM in Via Della Spiga were he was in charge of the distribution of brands such as Basile, Callaghan, Complice, Issey Miyake, Walter Albini until 1979.

In the 1980's he was appointed Art Director at Zamasport Spa, one of the most influential production company for prĂȘt a porter at the time. Between 1984 and 1988 Carlo Capasa discovered Romeo Gigli and launched the brand on the international market becoming CEO of the worldwide distribution company made in joint venture with Zamasport.

From 1993 to 2001 Tom Ford and Dawn Mello called him to coordinate and organize the distribution and production channels for Gucci Ladies RTW. For this purpose he incorporated a joint venture with Zamasport which was sold to the Gucci Group in 2001.

Today, Carlo is CEO of Costume National which he co-founded with his brother Ennio in 1986. In 2010 he was appointed Councillor of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, with assignment of the web new media projects. He is responsible for the relaunching of the CNMI website and all related activities.
