Elena Anfimova is a Portfolio Manager at Firebird Management, a New York based fund investing in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe. She oversees the fund's Balkan portfolio, as well as follows select positions and investment opportunities in Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, and Georgia. In mid-2010 she has moved to Istanbul to reinforce Firebird’s monitoring capability on the ground and evaluate a new equity market, Turkey. In her capacity as a fund representative she serves on various supervisory boards at the fund’s portfolio companies. As a director she has analyzed a number of M&A opportunities, international expansion projects, have conceived and overseen implementation of contingency plans in response to the crises of 2008-2011. She started at Firebird as an analyst after graduating from Wharton’s MBA program in 2004.
