Nino Tronchetti Provera is the CEO and Founding Partner of Ambienta SGR as well as the Chairman of the Investment Committee. Founded in 2007, Ambienta is an Asset Manager focused on Environmental Business, specifically Natural Resources productivity and Pollution. Its first fund, Ambienta I, is Europe’s largest Private Equity fund investing only in Environmental focused Companies.

Prior to Ambienta, Nino founded Cam Tecnologie in 1997 to develop clean technologies and products. The most important product developed was a low environmental impact fuel branded Gecam, a diesel-in-water emulsion alternative to traditional diesel fuel for transportation that reached 20% market share in the Italian Public Transportation market with a turnover of > €50m and operations in France, Czech Republic and China. Cam Tecnologie (today Pirelli Eco Technology) also developed some of the largest Italian wind power plant. From 2002 to 2007, he worked within the Telecom Italia group , first as CEO of Finsiel, the €1.2bn IT systems integrator, and subsequently as General manager of Olivetti, the IT hardware and systems producer. Prior to 1997 he worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Co and started up the environmental business within the practice. He is also the founder and vice-chairman of the Italian Kyoto club from 1999 to 2004.

Nino graduated from Luiss University, Rome with top degree cum laude in Business Administration. In 1992, he published his Thesis on the prospective of the environmental business. He also has an MBA degree from Insead Business School, Fontainebleau (1994-95).
